Library wants your memories

A WARRINGTON library is celebrating its 40th birthday by asking residents to share their fondest

memories.
Penketh Library celebrates its 40th birthday in October and staff are compiling a book of recollections

to mark the occasion and want to hear from Penketh and Sankey residents.
The borough council’s executive member for Community Services, Coun Roy Smith, said: “Anyone can contribute – age doesn’t matter – the library would be happy to receive two or three sentences or something more substantial. Don’t forget, things that are happening today will be history tomorrow and we are keen to record all of this for posterity.”
The book will be of memories and experiences from 1950 to the present day.
Anyone with any information to share with the library should contact them on 01925 723730, or drop into the site on Honiton Square.
