POLICE have been giving children from a Warrington primary school a special lesson in “Stranger Danger.”
PCSOs Tom Reid and Tony Spruce visited pupils from Our Lady’s Primary School in Latchford to hold informative talks on stranger danger.
They spoke to the youngsters about the dangers of talking to or wandering off with strangers and offered advice on playing safely.
Both officers then answered questions from the pupils about their role in the community.
PCSO Reid said: “The pupils really enjoyed the special lesson. They listened throughout and were very enthusiastic – they easily understood the importance of the stranger danger talk and they were very loud and clear in saying ‘no’.
“Visits like this are a vital part of our work in the local community. We are working closely alongside schools and regularly talk to children about these issues.
“It is through those links with the local community that we can gather vital information and identify any problems and the best way of tackling them.”
At the end of their visit, the PCSOs set the infant pupils the task of colouring safety posters, while the juniors had to create and design their own posters, with the winners receiving special prizes.
