Street theatre will bring town to life

THE streets of Warrington will come alive during the August bank holiday as Warrington Town Centre Partnership presents two days of street theatre.
Warrington Streets Alive will feature performances outside the market, at Market Gate and in Bridge Street from some of the North West’s top entertainers.
There will be a mixture of static and live shows each day between 12 and 2pm outside the market and between 12 and 3.0pm on Market Gate and Bridge Street.
“In a Spin” will feature in the static show and is based around a musical washing machine and “ironing board of death.”
“Bar Ha Ha” is also part of the static show and is a performance of multiplying bottles, flying glasses and country music.
The walkabout show will feature “The Crooning Captain”, which gives the audience the chance to join the captain in his mobile barrel bar for live songs and tomfoolery.
“Los’tronaut” will be asking for directions during the bank holiday as this intrepid spaceman taxis along the streets on his electrically propelled space shuttle in search of mission control.
Picture shows Stilt Walker one of the acts appearing during the two day street festival.
