Golfing for charity

GOLFERS in Warrington are being given the chance to play a round and raise money for a national charity at the same time.
Tony Kember, from Culcheth, is organising a charity golf day to raise money for Cancer Research UK in memory of his father Ralph, who recently lost his battle with the disease.
He said: “My dad was interested in sport generally really. I’m hoping the golf day will be a more social event where we can raise a lot of money for Cancer Research UK.”
Taking place at Mollington Golf Course in Chester, players will be greeted with breakfast on arrival, a full round of 18 holes, two-course carvery and raffle.
So far there are 18 teams signed up to take part, each consisting of four players.
The charity golf day takes place on Friday, August 18, priced at £20 per player. To take part contact Tony on 07825 745 281, or 01925 766 587.
