Artist joins mental health battle

A BUDDING artist from Culcheth is aiming to raise awareness about a mental health disease through a series of works that are to be displayed in public exhibitions.
Kay Haskins, who has recently graduated from Bolton University, bases her work on Alzheimer’s disease, producing installation pieces that will be showcased at the Turn Pike Gallery in the coming months.
Kay began looking at memory as the theme for her work at university, but then moved on to look at Alzheimer’s disease after extensive research.
She said: “A few of my friends have had family members who had the disease and they think my work is quite clever.
“Every person who views the work brings their own different perception to the pieces.”
