Home-grown movies to be previewed

WARRINGTON’S Cine and Video Society are producing two new exciting productions that will be previewed during the coming weeks.
The first production is a comedy entitled “Crossed Wires” which features people being put through to wrong numbers by the telephone operator.
It is directed by Bill Johnson and written by four society members.
“Supernatural Soul” is the second project and is based around a woman whose ex-boyfriend uses an out-of-body experience to stalk her, which leads to unexpected consequences.
It was written and directed by Peter Trengrove and will be entered into the annual North V South competition.
Recently the group has purchased a “green screen”, which is sure to enhance the quality of their new productions immensely.
Green screens are used on popular TV shows such as Doctor Who or box office films such as Star Wars.
Measuring 10ft by 20ft, an actor is filmed with the green screen as a backdrop, but when the film is edited, the green screen is taken away and replaced with a digitally mastered background.
Peter Trengrove from the society believes they can start attracting more, younger members, after he found out about the group through warrington worldwide.
He said: “Anyone is welcome, it does not matter about age or sex. We have a lot of established members in the group, some have been part of the society since the 60’s and 70’s.
“I have been a member for just over a year and actually found out about the society through an article in warrington worldwide!”
The WCVS meet every Monday evening at the Silver Band Hall, Loushers Lane, from 8pm to 10pm.
