A FAMILY had to be rehoused after a severe fire broke out in their home at Warrington early today.
The blaze was at a flat in Dixon Street, in the town centre, and caused serious damage in the kitchen.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus to tackle the fire with a hosereel and later used a ventilation unit to clear the property of smoke a fumes.
A spokesman said: “There was quite severe damage in the kitchen and the rest of the property was affected by smoke.”
It is believed the blaze was caused by a leaking water pipe which caused an electrical fault.
