WARRINGTON’S Stephen Smith has just graduated with a first class degree in Games Design from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and is already making waves in the games industry.
Stephen, 24, recently completed a three year course in Games Design and has already landed a job with top games company, “Traveller’s Tales”, developers of the popular Lego series of games which includes “Lego Star Wars” and the more recent “Lego Indiana Jones”.
The BA Games Design course covers aspects of computer graphics, artificial intelligence, game logic and mechanics, and is specifically tailored to help young games designers break into the industry and secure a job after graduation.
Stephen said: “As I came from a background in computer studies, I was apprehensive about the artistic side of the course but my tutors were extremely supportive and helped me to gain the skills I needed for videogame design. I was very excited to have graduated with a first and am looking forward to getting more experience in the industry.”
