Parking permits for residents

WARRINGTON Borough Council has issued parking permits to a number of residents in the town to ease the problems of uncontrolled parking.
Residents on Radnor Street, Brighton Street, Grafton Street, Ripley Street, Wellfield Street, Wardour Street, Windsor Street and Lexden Street, have all received the passes under the new plans.
Problems had arisen on the network of roads opposite Warrington Hospital, but the new permits will make it easier for residents to park, stop the blocking of private access, eliminate uncontrolled parking, deter all day commuter parking and enhance road safety.
The council’s executive member for Environmental Services, Coun Alan Litton said: “The scheme was developed and introduced following extensive consultation with local residents and ward members. It has been welcomed and supported well.
“Although it has been developed to assist local residents, all businesses located within the area have also been issued with parking permits for customer use.”
