A DISABLED man died early today after a fire raged through his ground floor flat in Warrington.
Fire crews were called to the incident on Leicester Street at around 1.05pm yesterday (Wednesday) and managed to pull the man from the building.
He was immediately taken to Warrington General Hospital, where he was treated for smoke inhalation, but later died in the early hours of this morning.
The blaze is believed to have started in a bedroom and could have been possibly caused by smoking material, according to fire chiefs.
Investigations by the fire service and Cheshire Police’s Specialist Investigation Unit are currently ongoing.
The name of the victim is not expected to be released until after a coroner’s examination.
