Barn extension would be degrading

AN extension to a barn conversion at Higher Walton, near Warrington, would mean the rural appearance of the farm building is “degraded,” according to local councillors.
Walton Parish Council has objected to plans for a proposed garden room to the rear of a property at Grange Green Manor, Mill Lane, Higher Walton.
But planners are recommending approval of the plan to Warrington’s Development Control Committee tomorrow (Thursday), subject to conditions.
The property is part of a barn conversion, and the proposal is for a single-storey extension.
But the parish council is concerned that the application would set a precedent for urbanising the original farm conversion.
