Motorway crash brings traffic chaos

0

THERE was heavy traffic congestion in Warrington during the peak evening rush hour after the M6 motorway was closed in both directions following an accident.
A vehicle crashed into an over-bridge between Lymm and Knutsford and police closed both north and south carriageways while safety checks were carried out on the bridge.
The southbound carriageway was re-opened shortly before 5.30pm, but huge tailbacks had built up and there were long queues in the Warrington and Knutsford areas.
Police advised motorists to try and avoid the motorway.
