A YOUNG chef from Warrington has won a top award in an initiative launched by tourism organisation Visit Chester and Cheshire.
Adam Shaw was named the Young Talented Chef of the year.
The 22-year-old has been a chef at the Rams Head Inn, Grappenhall, since February last year.
He received his award from Mayor and Mayoress of Warrington Graham and Elaine Welborn – and responded by cooking up a meal to set any mouth watering.
The menu featured Delamere asparagus spears wrapped in Cumbrian pancetta, home smoked haddock kedgeree with a soft poached duck egg, roast saddle of Cheshire lamb followed by rich chocolate tart with fruit compote.
The Mayor was impressed by the quality of Adam’s cooking.
He said: “This is a great initiative to recognise budding chefs and I have been impressed by the quality and presentation of the food. Adam has proven he has a talent and I wish him every success for the future.”
