WARRINGTON BASED author/illustrator Curtis Jobling, the designer behind Bob the Builder and the creator of new BBC show Frankenstein’s Cat, has put his skills to use in support of his local Junior Rugby League Club.
Curtis has created ‘Crossie Cobra’ a mascot for two Junior Teams at Crosfields ARLFC.
The new mascot was unveiled at the Team’s presentation night when Warrington Wolves star Kevin Penny (pictured above) presented trophies to the Team.
As well as a trophy each of the 20 man squad also received a montage of photographs from their season along with a copy of the new Team mascot designed by Curtis.
Greg Wainwright, Under 8’s Head Coach said: “We’re extremely grateful to Curtis for creating ‘Crossie Cobra’ for us and allowing us to use the image. The presentation night was great opportunity to celebrate the success and determination of the kids who have played this year.
The kids and parents are also really grateful to Kevin Penny for taking time out to present the trophies.”
Commenting on the new Mascot, Curtis said: “I was pleased to be able to create the Team’s Mascot. My son plays junior rugby and it’s great to see him enjoy the best team game in the world – I didn’t think twice about helping Crosfields out with a character design that can be used by everyone associated with this terrific club.”
