Can YOU make a difference?

POTENTIAL adopters and foster carers at Warrington have been finding out if they have what it takes to make a huge difference to the life of a child.
As part of a local recruitment campaign, a drop-in event took place at the Gateway when people from all walks of life popped in to meet with staff, foster carers and adopters to find out more about what is involved.
Regular drop-in sessions are now being held at Contact Warrington, Horsemarket Street, on the first Friday of every month.
There is a significant shortage of foster carers and adopters to care for local children who are not able to live with their families. Many people often think about being a foster parent or adopter, but don’t come forward because they think they are not “the right sort of person”.

Some people think that only married couples can apply, but lots of Warrington’s adopters and foster carers are single people or co-habiting couples, including same sex couples. Anyone with the time and willingness to care for a child can be considered as a foster carer or adopter.

Anyone wanting to contact the foster and adoption team should call 01925 457000, email [email protected], visit the website www.warrington.gov.uk or “drop-in” at Contact Warrington.
