Residents short-changed says councillor

RESIDENTS in Culcheth and Glazebury are not getting the service they pay for according to a local councillor.
Keith Bland believes people living on un-adopted roads in the areas have been short changed by the borough council, which has not been providing the service residents pay for.
Those deemed to be living on un-adopted roads do not qualify for borough council maintenance services, despite paying the same council tax as other residents in the area.
Coun Bland said: “It is going to be like a dripping tap quite frankly. These people have paid their council tax and do not even get a rebate.”
An appeal for information from Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council has resulted in a list of un-adopted roads being put forward by residents.
The roads include, Hurst Mill Lane and Hesnall Close in Glazebury, Twiss Green Drive in Culcheth and a section of road at the front of Newchurch Parish Church.
A letter from the parish council will be sent to the borough council regarding all the un-adopted roads.

  1. What a load of tosh!

    1) Councillor Bland’s Tory Party is in joint control of the Council and has been for the last 2-3 years. Councillor Bland is the leader of the Tory party and Deputy Leader of the council…. so is he just complaining to himself?? He has had the power to sort it all the time.

    2) Unlike Cllr. Bland, I am under 60 years old so should i get a Council Tax rebate because I don’t get a free bus pass to use Warrington BC’s buses?

    3) Is Councillor Bland suggesting people with no children get a rebate too?

Typical of politicians, trying to get the media to report on a non-story just to boost their profile.
