Fight to save green land

CAMPAIGNERS embroiled in a bitter dispute with Warrington Borough Council to save green land have held talks with users of the site.
Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Warrington South, David Mowat and local campaigner Phil McConnell, visited Cartwright’s field in Stockton Heath to chat with local youngsters who use the area for biking.
Over the past few years, ramps and jumps have been formed on a section of the site for riders to perform tricks and hone their biking skills.
Plans have been drawn by Warrington Housing Association for 54 houses on the site, sparking a lot of ill-feeling locally.
A campaign group consisting of local residents and local councillors is now desperately trying to block the proposed development.
