Homes plan gets a mixed reception

PLANS to create three new dwellings have received a mixed response from Town Hall planning chiefs.
One application, to convert two buildings into one dwelling with single and two storey extensions, has been approved in principle, while the other, to convert a barn into a single dwelling with one storey extension on the same site, has been refused.
Both application relate to Cherry Lane Farm in Lymm and will be put to the borough council’s development control committee tomorrow (Wednesday).
Borough councillor Shelia Woodyatt has urged the committee to intervene as the proposed changes are on green belt land, the development changes the rural feel of the village for people approaching from the M62 and access to the new buildings would create excess traffic.
A letter of objection states the developments would require substantial reconstruction of the barn, the inclusion of roof lights would be intrusive and that there has been no detail about the actual work on the buildings, other than the roof, provided.
