A GIANT garden gnome made out of balloons will be one of the highlights of an open day at a garden in Lymm.
Leckonby Cottage, adjacent to the Bridgewater Canal in the village centre, is the setting for the fifth annual Lymm Festival Art Garden.
The gnome, created by artist Flash (Rupert Appleyard), especially for the event is one of the main exhibits.
Art Garden organiser Su Williams said: “Every year we try and explore a new media. In 2007 we had a huge sand sculpture and this year we wanted to link up with the Cheshire Year of the Garden and Scarecrow Trail themes.”
There will a variety of work on display. Major pieces by professional artists will be mixed with original works produced by local people, including batik work from a recent workshop run by Janet Grimes.
The garden will be open throughout the festival from June 28 to July 5, with refreshments served every afternoon.
