LONG serving employees at a top Warrington garden centre have been honoured at a special ceremony.
Staff who have served for more than 10 years at Bent’s Garden and Home in Glazebury join their specially formed “10+ Club” which recently celebrated its fifth birthday.
Membership of the club has grown from 14 when it was first established in 2003, to 24, demonstrating increased loyal service to the company.
All members are offered special benefits such as birthday days off, vouchers and a pension scheme.
A special lunch was held at the centre’s Fresh Approach restaurant for all members, where two lucky winners received a voucher for a weekend break for two.
Managing director, Matthew Bent, said: “We have an excellent team of colleagues throughout the centre, many of whom have been with us for a number of years. “This year the 10+ Club welcomed three new members all of whom joined us in the Fresh Approach Restaurant for our annual celebration. It provides a great way of celebrating long-term commitment and we look forward to welcoming even more new members in the years to come.”
The club also has seven retired members who still attend the annual dinners, giving them an ideal opportunity to catch up with some old friends.
A member of the 10+ Club, John Miller, added: “So much has happened at Bents in the time I have been here. The business has grown so much but the care and attention they give to colleagues has always remained the same. The dinner is a great opportunity to get together and talk about things that have taken place and generally have a catch up with good friends.”
