Garage plan thrown out

PLANS to build a new garage in Warrington have been thrown out for the second time following a borough councillor’s claim the owner “wants to build a string of garages.”
Coun Ted Finnegan objected to plans to build a detached roof garage in an alley at the rear of Marbury Street, Latchford, claiming that it would set a precedent and allow for more garages to be constructed.
He also claimed it was a popular site for children to play and any construction or increased volume of traffic may lead to injury.
An application for the same development had come before town hall chiefs in 2005, but again was rejected by the Development Control Committee.
