TOP quality local produce will soon be on offer at a new, monthly farmers’ market in Warrington’s Walton Gardens.

The first council approved specialist market is being held on Sunday 8th June and will take place on the second Sunday of every month between 10.30am and 4.30 pm in the Heritage Yard.

The range of market stalls will be selling fresh bread, cakes, fruit, vegetables, yoghurt, jam, free range eggs and soups – to name just a few.

The Walton Lea Project, which has organised the markets, will also be showcasing high quality plants, seasonal produce and woodwork, including bird tables and boxes.

Visitors to the gardens can join the Mayor of Warrington, Coun Graham Welborn and Mayoress, Coun Elaine Welborn and staff as they greet The Prince William narrowboat at 12.30pm.

The Prince William is making its way through Cheshire as part of Cheshire’s Floating Gardens Festival and will be accompanied by a flotilla of local decorated boats.

The character of Alice from the Lewis Carroll Society and the Alice and Wonderland stories will be boarding the boat with gifts from Walton Hall Gardens which will be presented at the next port of call in Daresbury.

The Salvation Army brass band will be keeping everyone entertained during the afternoon.
