Vacancy – Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer to the Council
Applications are invited for the above post from suitably qualified and experienced persons capable of taking full responsibility for the administrative, financial and other aspects of Council business. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday evening of each month (except August). Duties also include attending sub-committee meetings. The hours of employment are 50 per month on a flexible basis.
The applicant should be computer literate and able to work on their own initiative.A computer is provided by the Council.
The clerk will be required to provide office accommodation and a telephone, for which an allowance is paid. A travel allowance in accordance with current local government rates is also paid.
Previous local government experience is desirable but not essential.
Salary and allowance is reviewed annually and is in accordance with Society of Local Council Clerks SCP scale, spine points 20 – 30 (a salary range of £5412 – £5922.
