IT’S official “Georgemania” is sweeping the nation after the young Warrington dancing star dazzled on national television winning Britain’s Got Talent.
The youngster was genuinely stunned when he was announced winner of the competition beating off tough competition.
George, who missed out in last year’s competition showed true grit as he returned stunning the audience with a dance rendition to a jazzed up version of Gene Kelly’s Dancing in the rain.
Prior to his victory warrington worldwide received numerous messages from excited George Sampson fans all over the country – including enquiries about a fan club.
Support for the 14-year-old has been particularly evident on our people’s forum, where calls have been made for people to vote for the youngster in tonight’s grand final.
Kerry Thomas from Essex, who e-mailed us said: “I would really, really like him to know just how absolutely fantastic we think he is. I was so moved by his performance, I thought they should have declared him overall winner there and then!”
Others, commenting on the “Come on Warrington! Get behind George Sampson!” topic on the forum said: “He’s absolutely great, what a nice kid” and “He’s a brilliant dancer and seems a lovely boy, I would give him my vote.”
George, who lives with mum Lesley, 39 and brother Luke, 19, faced stiff competition in the live final from acts such as dance act Cheeky Monkeys, martial arts duo Strike and classical singer Andrew Johnston, who came third, with Signature finishing runners up.
George, who has been a regular dancing in Warrington town centre will now get the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Show in December and walked away with a cheque for £100,000.
