Car-borne criminals targeted

CAR-borne criminals in Warrington have been feeling the full force of the law – through Cheshire Police’s Number Plate Recognition Unit.
A number of arrests have been made during May as a result of the unit’s activities.
Two arrests were made in Culcheth, for kidnap and unauthorised vehicle taking, while another was made in Woolston for driving while under the influence of alcohol.
A vehicle was also seized as a result of use of the unit, which was specifically used in the East area of Warrington.
A spokesperson for the Warrington East Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “We will continue to request support from this team who, when working on our area, have shown they get results and help to restrict those who use the roads to commit crime.”
