INCREASED traffic on a busy Warrington road have led to proposals for a new pedestrian crossing.
Residents had requested the facility be provided in Farrell Street and the borough council has agreed to install a Toucan crossing.
The crossing will be located about 48 metres west of the junction with Holmesfield Road and details of the proposals, together with a map showing the site can be examined at the council’s legal services department at the Quattro Building, New Town House, Buttermarket Street.
Objections, or other representations must be sent to the legal services department by June 19, giving the grounds on which they are made.
A Town Hall spokeswoman said the crossing would assist the needs of vulnerable road users and address key issues of safety and improving the environment for the local community.
“The proposals are as a result of increased pedestrian and vehicular traffic to and from the various surrounding estates and are aimed at reducing the current hazards experienced by pedestrians.”
