STAFF at the Warrington office of national accountants Baker Tilly are celebrating after the firm was named number one auditor for the not-for-profit sector.
According to CaritasData’s guide entitled ‘Top 3000 Charities 2008/09’, Baker Tilly has the highest number of charity audit clients in the UK.
Baker Tilly extended its lead over its competitors and now has 30% more audit clients than PWC, who were ranked second.
Mike Fairhurst, Baker Tilly audit partner and charity specialist in Warrington, said: “It’s great to have maintained our position as the leading charity auditor. This reflects the strong relationships we have with our clients and the level of support we provide.
“The Charities Act has redefined charities. New rules in auditing are being finalised and every year there are tax changes that affect the sector. The pace of change never seems to stop. The scale and focus of our work enables us to help our clients respond to these changes effectively and to take advantage of new opportunities as they arise”.
