Farmer wins stables battle

FARMER John Bryan has won a planning battle for the right to change two barns into stables.
Warrington’s development control committee has decided the buildings, on land at Fir Tree Close, Stretton, can be converted – despite the objections of Stretton Parish Council.
The parish council had concerns about access to the site, which is on Green Belt land close to the M56 motorway.
But planning officers said the plans complied with both national and local planning policies on the Green Belt because they involved the re-use of existing buildings with no impact on the character and appearance of the Green Belt.
