POLICE are searching for three men who could have vital evidence of a serious sex attack on a teenage girl at Warrington.
The three are not suspects – but they were seen talking to the man believed responsible for the attack shortly afterwards.
PC Christine McCullough, who is investigating the attack at Whitegate Pond, Hood Manor, Warrington, said: “This was a worrying attack. The three men were not involved but they may have information which could lead us to the offender.”
The three men were fishing at the pond between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on Friday, May 2 – the scene of the attack.
A 15-year-old girl was the victim of a sex attack by a black man, aged about 42, five feet eight inches tall and of medium build.
He was wearing a black leather jacket, blue jeans and white trainers at the time.
Anyone who witnessed the incident – particularly the three fishermen who were seen talking to the alleged offender shortly after the incident – is asked to contact PC McCullough on 0845 458 0000. Alternatively they can call the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
