Thief robs 75-year-old woman

A COLD-hearted thief has struck at the home of a 75-year-old woman in Warrington.
The man, who is described as being in his 30s to 40s, managed to talk his way into the victim’s home on Thelwall Lane in Latchford despite failing to produce identification when challenged.
He claimed he needed to switch the water off and once inside, he distracted the woman by turning on taps and flushing water from the toilet, before taking money and jewellery from the property.
The thief was seen walking on Thelwall Road towards Nook Road after leaving the house.
Police are describing the man as wearing jeans, a t-shirt and black gloves. He is around 5ft 9in/10in in height, of stocky build and has a shaved head.
