Stepping out for charity

ORGANISERS of the Cheshire Trails from Macmillan Cancer Support are urging people from Warrington to put their best foot forward and raise money for the charity.
The Cheshire Trails involves a 10 mile walk around the Lymm Heritage Trail, taking in the picturesque local beauty spots of Lymm Dam, Bridgewater Canal and Slitten Gorge.
Everyone who takes part in the trail will be helping the 1.2 million people currently living with the disease in the UK.
Macmillan fundraising co-ordinator Marie Travers said: “The Cheshire Trails is a really popular event. It’s the perfect excuse to get out in the fresh air with friends and family, take in some beautiful scenery and have fun. Everyday 740 people are diagnosed with cancer and one in three of us will receive a cancer diagnosis in our lifetime. Money raised from Walk Wonders goes towards helping Macmillan provide practical, medical, emotional and financial help for people affected by cancer. Last year the walk raised over £10,000 and this year we want to make it even bigger and better.”
Local DJ Pete Pinnington will be opening the walk, which takes place tomorrow Sunday, May 11.
