RESIDENTS are being told to “get on your bike” by Warrington Borough Council and take advantage of free cycle lessons.
The council’s leisure services and Cycle Projects have teamed up to provide a series of free lessons aimed at encouraging people to cycle.
There are two schemes running at Select Leisure centres across the borough, Wheels for All, which is aimed at elderly, disabled and special needs residents, and Health on Wheels, for adults and children alike.
Health and well-being is the emphasis for the schemes and Cycling Projects have even set up a base at Victoria Park for people who cannot ride a bike to be taught.
The free sessions will run as follows – Birchwood, Tuesday, May 13, 10am to 12 noon, Broomfields, Tuesday, May 27, 10am to 12 noon, Fordton, Monday, May 19, 11am to 1pm, Woolston, May 30, 1pm to 3pm, and Sankey, Wednesday, May 28, 10am to 12 noon.
For more information about this initiative, or any others, contact Dace Hitchen at Cycling Projects on 01925 234 213.
