Woman dies after m-way incident

A 45-year-old woman died after being struck by a lorry lorry on the M62 near Warrington.
She was treated at the scene by air ambulance and rushed to hospital, but died later.
She was on foot at the time of the collision, having left her green Ford Focus on the hard shoulder.
Police say the woman was from the Garston area of Liverpool.
The westbound carriageway from junction 11 at Birchwood was completely closed for a short time and the third lane remained closed for another hour.
The driver of the lorry didn’t suffer any injury, but was treated for shock after the incident.
