Bus travel perk for pensioners

0

BUS travel just got smarter for residents over 60 in Warrington.
That is because new smart cards will be arriving on thousands of doorsteps entitling them to free off peak bus travel across England.
They will replace the old style bus pass and can be used from 9.30am to 11.30pm in Warrington as well as any other places in the UK.
The national initiative was introduced by the Government and takes the form of a small credit card sized piece of plastic with the holder’s name and picture on the front.
Everyone who applied for their pass before January 1 will be receiving their new pass by April 1.
Anyone who applied for their card after January 1 will receive their card towards the end of April.
Current bus passes will continue to be accepted until the holders receive their new card.
If there are any incorrect details on cards when they arrive, holders should contact 01925 443 322.
Anyone wishing to apply for a pass can retrieve an application form by contacting 019245 443322 or visiting the Contact Centre in Horsemarket Street.
