Wolves bounce back in 10 try romp

WARRINGTON Wolves bounced back from their shock Good Friday defeat at Widnes with a 10 try demolition of London Broncos 54-20 at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Joel Monaghan, (pictured top) Chris Bridge, Rhys Williams and Stefan Ratchford all scored two tries and Brett Hodgson claimed 18 points as the Wolves returned to winning ways in style.
Kieran Dixon scored a first-half hat-trick for the visitors who had a host of senior players missing but Warrington turned on the style in the second half to run away with the game.
The Broncos took the lead after Chad Randall intercepted in his own half and set up Dixon to score, but the home side responded with two quick tries as Monaghan beat Liam Colbon to Richie Myler’s high kick before Williams touched down on the opposite flank.
A trio of offloads enabled Dixon to score his second try for the visitors, but their good work was undone when Bridge capitalised on an Alex Hurst mistake to score before grabbing a second after exchanging passes with Monaghan.
Dixon had the last word of the half, though, completing his hat-trick after Michael Witt had surged through a gap, leaving just a Brett Hodgson conversion separating the sides at the break.
But Warrington stepped up a gear in the second half and Hodgson widened the gap by crossing in the 44th minute.
As the game entered the final quarter, London ran out of steam and the Wolves ran riot.
Ratchford capitalised on breaks from Chris Hill and Hodgson to under the posts twice in quick succession before Monaghan went over in the corner again and Currie powered over from inside 10 metres to make it 48-14 before Williams added his second.
The Broncos had the final say as Erjon Dollapi marked his debut with a close-range try, converted by Witt on the hooter.
