WARRINGTON Wolves’ Halliwell Jones Stadium was turned pink last summer for scenes from the new BBC comedy series Candy Cabs.
The second episode of the three part comedy series Candy Cabs will be aired tonight (Tuesday) on BBC One.
The series, inspired by Warrington’s very own “Pink Ladies,” tells the story of a group of friends who set up their own, all-female taxi firm and their business adventure together.
Some filming took place locally in the old post office at Lymm, and part of the story to be aired tonight involves scenes at a fictional football club.
The Halliwell Jones Stadium was given a special make over, with the playing surface being transformed into a football pitch.
The all-star cast visited the Wolves’ home with names including Jo Joyner from Eastenders, comedian Lisa Millett, former Brookside actress Claire Sweeney and Ricky Whittle from Hollyoaks.
The rest of the cast includes Paul Nicholls, Denis Lawson, John Henshaw, Jodie Prenger, Paul Kaye, Melanie Hill, Tom Goodman-Hill, and Daniel Ryan.
Johanne McAndrew and Elliot Hope both wrote the comedy, and have regularly written episodes for Casualty, Holby City and Hollyoaks.
