WARRINGTON have won promotion back to the Cheshire County League at the first attempt – with one match still to play.

They defeated Barnton by six wickets on Saturday and sit at the top of the Cheshire League division one table, 28 points ahead of Middlewich.
Barnton were dismissed for 117, Ashley Scholes taking 3-28 and Chai Gadepalli 3-22. Warrington replied with 120-4 with Scholes again the stand-out player, hitting 79.
The final match of the season is a home fixture against Old Parkonians – weather permitting.

Unfortunately, the season did not end so happily for Grappenhall who lost one of their two final games and saw the other cancelled due to the weather.
As a result they are relegated yet again from the County League ECB Premier Division.
It has become a depressingly familiar story. Grappenhall start the season in fine style but go into decline around the middle of the season – partly as a result of the disappearance of a few key players
On Saturday they went down to Oxton after being bowled out for 73 – of which Arav Shetty scored 33. Oxton didn’t find runs easy to get either but reached their modest target for the loss of six wickets.
Tom Bramhall took 4-20 for Grappers.
Lymm Oughtrington Park won by 51 runs against Holmes Chapel. Antonelli Atwell top scored with 33 as Lymm hit 141-8. Holmes Chapel were dismissed for 90, M Rafique taking 4-27 and K Megharaj taking 4-25.
Appleton won by eight wickets after dismissing Knutsford for 68, Adam Peters taking 6-33. Martin Cooper hit 36 not out as Appleton coasted home with 69-2.
Glazebury lost heavily after being bowled out for 43 by Burton
