BUILDING work has almost completed on Warrington & Vale Royal College’s new Construction and Civil Engineering Academy, with only finishing touches remaining.

Announced late last year, the new centre of excellence will expand the range of technical qualifications and apprenticeships offered to the construction, nuclear, and allied industries. The state-of-the-art facility is on track to open in September, ready to welcome a new cohort of students.
The Construction & Civil Engineering Academy, a key component of Warrington’s Town Deal, will offer advanced training and professional qualifications to both school leavers and adult students, whether this be on a full-time or part-time course, or an apprenticeship. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the Academy aims to enhance local workforce skills and boost regional economic development.

On the developments taking place, college Principal & CEO Nichola Newton said: “The development of the Construction & Civil Engineering Academy provides the college with a fantastic opportunity to work with employers and key stakeholders to co-create an education and skills training offer that will enhance the sectors’ use of digital technologies for improved productivity and sustainability.”
The college looks forward to opening the doors to this brand-new facility, and encourages prospective students to get in touch for more information about the opportunities available to them. For more information about the academy, please visit: wvr.ac.uk/ccea
