FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a car fire on the hard shoulder of the M6 northbound at Junction 21a of the Croft interchange.
Two crews, One from Lymm and one from Birchwood were called to reports of a car on fire on the hard-shoulder shortly before 11.30pm last night (Saturday).
Wearing breathing apparatus, they used a hose reel jet to put the fire out. The car was checked with a thermal imaging camera for further hotspots and the hose reel jet was used to cool the engine.
Firefighters were at the scene for just under an hour.
